Nakano, Co Editor Antti Fagerroos, Photographs

Leung's first any only employer has been Hallikainen Instruments, so his experiences in the United States can be measured by his experiences at this Company. He not only toils in the Research Department but works in close conjunction with the Engineering Department collaborating to solve its mathematical and design problems. At home, Leung, is an avid handy man working around and in his Lafayette home, applying his experience to maintain his personally de- signed transistorized stereo amplifier for the enjoyment of his wife, son and daughter.

During the past few weeks you might have noticed a sudden increase in manpower at Hallikainen Inslxuments. This increase was the result of the Shell Training Pro- gram sponsored by Hallikainen Instruments and the Shell Oil Company. =?? the coordinator for Hallikainen, stated t at this program is composed of 12 men from Shell refineries located in Canada, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas, Washington and California. These men are top-notch instru- mentation inspectors and foremen in their own right, and this program hopes to supple- ment their knowledge in this field. This is accomplished by on-the-spot instrument and maintenance training, with thorough check- out procedures on the many and varied petroleum instruments they will face when they return. Furthermore, the short cuts and trouble- shooting procedures not usually found in vendor instruction manuals are also covered. This is hoped to reduce the down-time of the field instruments. This is the second training program of its kind between Hallikainen and Shell, the first occuring two years previoud,y. In this program, as well as in the first, Hallikainen Instru- ments will supply the necessary instruments, facilities and training. The training will be coordinated with other manufacturers so that proficiency can be gained with other instru- ments as well. But where the first program lasted several months, this program is of only several weeks in length and will be held during the period of April15 - May 23, 1968. *************
